We went to the doctor for Kara's 6 month check up 2 Mondays ago. Everything was great! She weighed exactly 16 pounds and was 27 1/2 inches long. She is scared to death of Dr. Musgrave and screamed during he entire check up! He said that was a good sign though, it told him she was ahead developmentally. She got shots and the flu shot, but she was a trooper about it. Then, we went to see her new cousin Jayden who was just born that day. It reminded me of how small they are when they're first born! Having a six month old who wiggles all over while you hold her and weighs twice as much as a new born is quite different from the newborn she first was that I held 6 months ago.
The Sunday before we went to the doctor, we were enjoying breakfast with Donavan's family at the casino's buffet. Kara was in her carseat in the highchair thing to hold her up to the table, and a little boy knocked her over and she fell out. Thankfully she fell out belly first and only got a bruise on her top gum. She didn't hit her head or anything. However, it scared the crap out of all of us! To top it off... the people never apologized. How RUDE!
The next Monday, Kara was back at the doctor for a rash that she developed all over her body. Turns out, she had Roseola. The rash seems to finally be going away now, but not without a fight!
Aside from all of this, we appear to have a very healthy, very happy 1/2 year old. Who I've just noticed happens to look JUST LIKE ME!!!
She does look just like you :) Adorable! Thanks for the advice on the hospital bag...keep the mommy advice coming! I'm clueless at most things, so all the help is welcome!!!!
