4 months old!

My little girl is 4 months old! My how the time flies! Kara went to the doctor last Monday for her 4 month check-up and shots. She weighs 13 pounds 6 ounces and is 24 and half inches long. Shots did not go so great! She was crabby, sore, and just a little pistol for about 2 days. But, it seems to have passed now and we're on to new and better things, like trying to cut teeth again! Someone has seriously turned on the water works of drool with this little girl! Also, we were told that we can start veggies and fruit! YAY! (We had already gotten to start cereal, because Kara was having serious constipation. So bad it involves a very embarrassing story that I will get to tell all her boyfriends and make her mad when she's older!) It's a really good thing that we got to start, because Kara is very interested in the food that we are eating. She will watch you take it from your plate to your mouth and look at you like, "Where is mine?" She has had squash (which she loved! I couldn't spoon it in her mouth fast enough without her yelling at me!) and watermelon. We put the watermelon in her chewy feeder to let her try the taste out. She seemed to enjoy it for something to teeth on.

Also, we have started the process of undoing the swaddling at night. We have a kiddopotamus blanket that serves as a straight jacket at night that holds her into her swaddle. We LOVE it and so does Kara, but she is starting to get too big for it. So, we've started with one arm free at night.

Kara loves to sit up with our help or the help of her Bumbo. She also enjoys standing on our laps and being able to look around. She also has started attempting to figure out a sippy cup. Right now, she doesn't get that she has to tip it to get something, but we're experimenting!

As far as Mom and Dad, we have started a nightly work out routine. We do yoga/pilates on Mondays, Exercise ball aerobics on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Kickboxing aerobics on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and run on Sundays. It's only been our first full week, but I feel that I can already tell a difference in how I fit back in my pants!

We also went to the Alan Jackson concert at the Jones County Fair on Friday. My husband used his "ins" to get us upgraded seats to row 9 right in the middle! I was so excited, because this was part of my mother's day present! We got down poured on, but it was still a GREAT concert! We made it back right before the Delhi dam broke, which closed Highway 38! We got very lucky! Feel sorry for those people having to go through all of that mess!

This weekend, we finally are going to be able to meet up with Kelsi and Autumn and we're going to meet all our new neighbors at the neighborhood block party! And, Mom is launching her Scentsy business this Tuesday!
We'll leave you with a picture of Kara on her 4 month birthday!
